Meet the Henson Group Sports Team

 

Our History

Henson Group Sports was founded in 1967 by Olympic wrestling medalist, Captain Josiah Henson. Henson Rowing is the newest division in our product line.

Jack Kelly was the son of Olympic rowing gold medalist John Kelly, Sr. of Philadelphia, the first triple gold medalist in rowing history, and also the brother of legendary Hollywood Star Grace Kelly, Princess of Monaco. Jack's nephew is Albert II, the current prince of Monaco. Jack Kelly and Joe Henson were lifelong friends. They were Olympic Teammates in Helsinki and Joe subsequently served as Vice-President of the Amateur Athletic Union of the United States (AAU) himself when Jack Kelly was AAU President. Joe was later AAU President after Kelly and WTF Vice-President under Un Yong KIM.
